Our Social Impact

Our collaboration with Cercitop

At Cooka’s, care goes beyond ingredients. We proudly collaborate with CERCITOP, a Portuguese social solidarity cooperative that supports people with disabilities through meaningful work and inclusion.

Cooka’s currently employs two women from CERCITOP as part of our extended team. We also send part of our secondary packaging to their workshop, where it is carefully prepared by their team.

This partnership allows us to give back locally, support inclusive employment, and create real impact within our community.

Every package we share with our pet-loving community carries more than just cookies and  food, it carries purpose.

Our Packaging Philosophy

image_2

“Why don’t you use plastic zipper bags?”

Because convenience is not the same as responsibility.

Most zipper bags, yes even “kraft” ones, are coated with plastic layers and made from mixed materials that are very difficult to recycle.
So we chose differently.

Local & Honest
Our paper packaging is produced by a small family printing company in Torres Vedras, made from recycled paper, printed with non-toxic inks, and fully recyclable. Once a month Rui delivers himself.

Inside each pack is a lightweight, mono-material BOPP (polypropylene) liner produced in Esmoriz, Portugal. It keeps our treats fresh and safe while remaining fully recyclable.
No mixed layers. No greenwashing.

Reuse First
Our toppers and meals come in:
• Reusable glass jars and bottles
• Aluminium tins
Designed to stay in your home, not in a landfill.

Recycled paper.
Recyclable mono-material protection.
Reusable containers.

That’s Cooka's packaging 'pawprint'.

Supporting Rescue Dogs

Supporting Local Kennels

At Cooka’s, our love for animals goes far beyond the kitchen.

We regularly deliver treats and food to several local rescue organizations and kennels in Portugal, small gestures of comfort for dogs waiting for their forever homes. But we also believe support should be hands-on.

Together with Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, we particpated for HAND-on days, visiting kennels to clean, repair, wash, sort donations, and improve daily conditions for the animals.

On many weekends, our team has joined rescue walks, spending time with dogs who simply need movement, affection, and human connection.

A few months ago, we partnered with Mimo Dogs to host a large fundraising event, raising over €20,000 to support their ongoing rescue work.

For us, helping animals in need is not a campaign.

It is a responsibility.

Powered by the Sun

image_2
Last year, we installed solar panels on our production facility.

Today, approximately 70% of our energy is powered by the sun.
Reducing our environmental footprint is not an afterthought, it is part of how we build Cooka’s for the future.

Small batches. Real ingredients. Cleaner energy.
